When classes are in session, Watzek is open 141 hours a week:

At the end of the semester, Watzek remains open continuously from Reading Days through the last day of finals.
The library has shorter hours during the summer and breaks.
Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., a Lewis & Clark ID card is required to enter the building. If you have a card issued before fall 2022, visit Campus Safety to request a free replacement.
Eleven study rooms are available on the third floor of the building for individual or group study.
Study rooms may be booked in advance. Reservations are not required, but may be an especially good idea during midterms and finals.

Please note that the rooms in the quiet area are not sound-proofed.
Covered beverages are allowed in the library, and food may be eaten in the atrium.
There are three noise levels in Watzek: collaborative study, conversational study, and silent study. Silent areas overlook the estate gardens on the second and third floor. Please ask for directions at the service desk. If you are bothered by noise in a silent area, please alert library staff.
Noise-canceling headphones are available for 4-hour loans at the service desk, where you can also find earplugs.
A limited number of lockers, located on the ground floor of the building, are available for semester-long rental. There is a $5 charge to rent a locker. Ask for more information at the service desk.

A prayer area is on the main floor in the A–D area of the stacks. Please ask at the service desk for directions.
