Mission 

The Aubrey R. Watzek Library advances intellectual inquiry at Lewis & Clark through our collections, people and spaces.

Vision 

The Aubrey R. Watzek Library will:

  • offer exceptional service based on the information needs of Lewis & Clark students, faculty, staff;

  • provide a safe, welcoming and accessible environment with spaces conducive to individual study and collaborative learning;

  • create opportunities for Lewis & Clark students to build skills, make discoveries and engage in creative endeavors;

  • develop collections and programming that inspire curiosity, support an evolving curriculum and represent diverse voices;

  • participate in local, national, and global information-sharing networks to enhance the resources available to our community and to disseminate Lewis & Clark’s intellectual and creative work to wider audiences;

  • explore innovative approaches to library collections, scholarly communication, and information literacy in collaboration with students, faculty and staff.
