Fir Acres Writing Workshop 2019: Services for Fir Acres Students and Faculty

Services for Fir Acres Students and Faculty

Browsing & Borrowing

Watzek Library has a collection of several hundred thousand physical volumes, many of them literary, entertaining, or both. You are very welcome to read our books in-house (when done with items, just leave them on a cart so we'll know they were used). Upon request, we will also provide temporary library cards that allow you to borrow items during the workshop. Visit the circulation desk to find out how to get a library card.

Our catalog, Primo, is the best way to find print books as well as a wide variety of media and electronic items. Please note that many items you will see in Primo are available only by request from other institutions, a service not included with a temporary library card.

Computers & Printing

Watzek Library has a number of desktop computers (both PC and Mac) that you are welcome to use. Ask at the circulation desk for information about guest access.

A printer for your use is available in our second-floor computer lab.

Games

More than twenty games of various sorts are available for use in the library. You'll find more information here: http://library.lclark.edu/games

Quiet Space

While conversation is allowed and encouraged in much of the library, we also have dedicated quiet space on the second and third floor. Look for signs indicating noise levels.

Special Collections

Take advantage of a chance to see original drafts of William Stafford's poetry in person! Special Collections may be visited by appointment on weekdays before 4:30 p.m. Please contact E.J. Carter (ecarter@lclark.edu), Hannah Crummé (hcrumme@lclark.edu), or Zach Selley (selleyz@lclark.edu) to schedule a time.

Tours and Information

Would you like some company as you get oriented to our space? Are you curious about how a college library works? Do you need help researching something for a project you're working on? Stop by the circulation desk and ask for Robin Anderson or Erica Jensen. We'd love to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
