I feel very lucky to get to work with students and faculty in Art, English, Music, Theatre, and Psychology, supporting student research and building our collections in those areas. I also act as the liaison to the General Education program and coordinate the library’s outreach to Words and Numbers sections.
By far the most rewarding part of my job is helping students find their own way through the often murky process of research. I also care a lot about helping people to get their bearings in the library more broadly, which frequently comes down to very practical matters. After thirteen years in academic libraries (eight of them at Watzek), I'm still excited every time I get to help someone understand how to read a call number for the first time. It's a simple act that unlocks a world of possibilities.
Please don’t hesitate to book an appointment slot on my calendar or to get in touch for help with any question, however small, vague, unusual, or enormous it may seem to you. I’m also always eager to hear suggestions about books or other resources that you think belong in Watzek’s collection.
