Watzek Library is proud to support a data visualization contest to encourage and recognize excellence in the presentation of quantitative information. We invite submissions from all LC students.
Awards will be made in two categories:
1) Outstanding visualization prepared by a first-year student as part of their Numbers coursework
Each semester we will recognize two outstanding visualizations created by first-year students as part of their Numbers coursework. All entires made by the end of the term by students in Numbers classes will be considered. For details on preparing a submission please see the LC DataStories tab.
Winning entires will be recognized on our website and receive an award of $50.
The deadline for entires for the Fall 2021 semester is December 19, 2021.
2) Outstanding visualizations prepared by any LC student as part of their coursework
Each year we will recognize two outstanding visualizations created by an LC student of any year as part of their coursework. To be considered for this award, please submit an image file containing your visualization together with an abstract (for more details see the LC DataStories tab).
Winning entires will be recognized on our website and receive an award of $100.
The deadline for entires for the 2021-22 academic year is May 9, 2022.
Entries will be judged by a panel of faculty, students and library staff.
