General Information & Building Hours

Dear Lewis & Clark Community:

Watzek Library has transitioned to online-only services and resources. Physical access to the Watzek Library building and its collections including the Summit service is suspended until further notice. We have made these changes to protect the health of our community and to comply with statewide measures that apply to communal spaces.

All of Watzek's online resources including research databases, e journals, ebooks, and (digital) interlibrary loan are available for students and faculty to access. This website (https://library.lclark.edu/coronavirus) includes information about due dates on materials that you currently have checked out and highlights some additional services that we are making available. They include remote research consultations with librarians, digitization of course reserves and other print materials, conversion of videos to online delivery, and request for purchase of ebooks.

Students who remain on campus and need to use computers may continue to access the machines in the Dubach PC and Mac labs via 24-hour card swipe. The Information Technology Service Desk located on the first floor of the building is available by e-mail (itservice@lclark.edu) or by calling (503) 768-7225.

Over the last weeks, it has been heartening to hear from so many students who value and indeed depend on the library and its resources. I owe a debt of gratitude to my colleagues at Watzek who have kept library services running smoothly during these most trying of circumstances. The entire Watzek staff will be very eager to reopen the building and bring the library back to life as soon as it is safe to do so.
