Artist Statement

The body is more than an individual;
it is an inexplicable object of beauty, strength, flesh, and form.
It is a landscape of color and line.
Paint is inherent in our skin.

The figures emerge from the materials they are made of, built up in an illusion of brushstrokes.
Caught between realism and abstraction, each element exists as its own form.
It is more than a face, more than a body.
It is a translation of sight, a language of movement and staticity.
It questions our obsession with our own image.
Why do we seek expression? Why do we seek relation?
How is it that beauty stimulates our senses, where does it arise from?

Let your preconceptions dissolve; look with your eyes.
See the paint.
