Displays: 2021-22: Banned Books Week

Watzek Library celebrates the freedom to read during Banned Books Week (September 26 to October 2). A selection of challenged titles are on display in the New Books alcove; all titles may be checked out.

Per the American Library Association, Banned Books Week “spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. It brings together the entire book community—librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types—in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.” Join us in celebrating the freedom to read!
