About Mark

Welcome to Watzek! I've been lucky enough to serve as the director here since Spring 2012. I started at Lewis & Clark in 2001 and have had the pleasure of working in academic libraries almost continuously since 1990.

I'm convinced that the library is one of the best parts of being a student at LC. It's my job to ensure that it continues to be a great place to study, collaborate, and contemplate deep thoughts. I also work to make sure we have strong collections and expert staff to support the ambitious research projects that our students take on.

I have a bachelor's degree in History and Journalism and Master's degrees in European History and Library/Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Please get in touch with me if you have any ideas that you'd like to share about the library.
