Meetings:

SAC meets twice a semester for a hosted lunch meeting.  Meetings typically occur during the lunch hour on Tuesdays.  The next meeting will be early in the spring semester.   Watch this space for details.

Watzek Library Student Advisory Committee (SAC) Charge:

  • To open and maintain effective communication channels between students and Watzek Library staff;
  • To transmit the needs and feelings of the student body regarding the library;
  • To serve as a sounding board for programs and policies initiated by the library;
  • To serve as an advocacy forum for the library.

Examples of 2008-2009 Projects:

  • Advised the library's Collaborative Furniture Planning Taskforce on the best spaces for group learning in Watzek Library, and approved space design plans and furniture choices prior to purchase.
  • Advised the library Marketing Team on the most effective methods for marketing library events to CAS students.
  • An SAC representative attended meetings of both the Library Ed Tech Committee and the General Education Task Force.
  • Helped the public services team design a library user satisfaction survey that was distributed to all LC CAS and Grad students in spring 2009.
